Jailhouse Rocks!

No peeping toms whilst you're washing the dishes, no grille, no unwanted hands reaching through the windows, no accessible padlocks that can be yanked.

Mission accomplished.

Hordes of wildebeest ...

.. there aren't. But we'll gladly take the open field, mining lake, luxuriant palms, wild sugarcane, poultry population and stray cats as an alternative.

Lights, Camera ..

.... action.

H.M.S Dauntless

Decision making structure process :

1. House condition : v. much to be desired. And the toilet is beyond redemption.

2. Location : reliving kampung life

3. Price : a tad on high side but not excessive.

Sometimes you just have to pick up the ball and run with it ...

Sold At First Sight

It's no Bangsar or Damansara but it has rustic character in droves.

If you were a child of the 70s you'd know : tikam, pistol air 5 sen, gam belon tiup, kukuq kelapa.

And kids still roam the streets freely like the carefree 70s ...what? In 2015? You betcha ..

The Roaring 80s - Birth of Desa Ayer Hitam

Back in the days when dreams were made of tin, Puchong was fueled by the mining activities of the Asiatic Mining Company.

Where D'Island now stands perched at the tip of a pristine azure blue lake, once lay a heaving mechanical behemoth that once stood as guardian of this sleepy hollow village.

In 1979 Malaysia was producing 31% of world output of tin but by 1993 the industry had pretty much collapsed. At its height, more than 40,000 workers were employed in tin mines around Malaysia.

And here in Desa Ayer Hitam, it had 3 kapal korek and as history would have it - also the largest dredging machine in the country. And when the tin dried up, the then Selangor Menteri Besar granted land for the unemployed workers to build their homes on what is now known as Desa Ayer Hitam.
